MARCH OF THE PENGUINS
January 30th, 7:00 pm
Forest Service Conference Room upstairs
Join the Science Center for an amazing film documenting the journey of the Emperor penguins in Antarctica. Every year, all the world's Emperor penguins return to a breeding ground that is a 70-mile, one-week march from the nearest inlet. As they waddle single file across the ice, this film documents their journey. Comparisons between humans and these flightless, seagoing birds are unavoidable, not only for the comical diligence of their walk but for what happens after they reach their destination. In the same spot at which they were all born, the penguins seek out an individual mate to produce and nurture an offspring. This film will be viewed on the Forest Services Large screen with sound!
Join us for an exciting hour of educational fun. All ages are welcome and our programs are free! Many of our programs include a hike or afternoon of exploration too.
