Meet at the Forest Service conference room upstairs.
The objective of pink and chum salmon fisheries management in PWS includes escapement goals for meeting spawning requirements while allowing the harvesting of surplus fish. The department also follows regulatory plans to manage fisheries to allow hatcheries to achieve cost recovery and brood-stock objectives. The PWS salmon management area is divided into eleven districts that correspond to local geography and distribution of salmon. Join the Science Center and Bert Lewis for a program that will explain how these goals are met and carried out each year.
Join us for an exciting hour of educational fun. All ages are welcome and our programs are free! Many of our programs include a hike or afternoon of exploration too.
